Some Further Guide lines

Who are you? Are you a risk taker? Can you afford to lose money? First thing to do is to understand yourself the type of trader that you are, whether aggressive or conservative, long-term or short. If you are short term and trade goes bad, cut it, don't become a long term trader, otherwise you buying and hoping, not even buying and holding. Have a trading strategy before entering the market. Know before the trade is executed where you will take profits/loss. Understand why a win/loss occurred and how you could of made the trade better. Consistency is the key to trading success, without it you have nothing. Your judgment is the only concern, do not let outside factors affect the way you trade. Not everyone can be a trader, deem yourself worthy if given this opportunity.

Most importantly have fun and stick to your rules.

Stop Loss Explained

By singapore trader reports

This is one of the most important aspects of trading, and is pivotal in helping to protect your capital. A stop loss is an order to buy (or sell) a security/contract once the price of the security climbed above (or dropped below) a specified set price or stop price. Once this specific stop price is hit, the stop order is then triggered as a market order (no limit) or a limit order (fixed or pre-determined price).

One the key points to using a stop order is that you don't have to actively monitor how a stock is performing. This can allow you to do other things instead of being forced to monitor the trade. However because the order is triggered automatically when the stop price is reached, the stop price could be activated by a short-term fluctuation in a security's price, caused through lack of liquidity or other. Once the stop price is reached, the stop order becomes a market order or a limit order and you will be exited from this trade.

Especially when trading in a fast-moving volatile market, the price at which the trade is executed may be significantly different from the stop price in the case of a market order. Alternatively in the case of a limit order the trade may or may not get executed at all. This happens when there are no buyers or sellers available at the limit price.

TYPES OF STOP ORDERS:

Stop Loss Limit Order

The stop loss limit order is an order to buy a security at at no more or less than you set the specific prize at. This allows you the trader some control over the price at which the trade is going to be executed at, but this may prevent the order from being executed at. A stop loss limit order can only be executed by the exchange at the limit price or lower than you have set it at. Meaning that if the stock was to open up in the morning and 'gap down' below the prize that you set the Stop Loss Limit Order would be triggered and then enter or exit you from that particular trade that you set the price on.

What are the key advantages and disadvantages of the stop loss limit order?

ADVANTAGES of a stop loss limit order is that the trader has full control over the price at which the order is executed at, as you set the order.

DISADVANTAGES of using the stop loss limit order is that in a fast moving volatile market your stop loss order may not get executed if there are no buyers/sellers at the limit price due to rare circumstances or when a stock or trade can be illiquid.

Stop Loss Market Order

The stop loss market order is when you place an order to buy (or sell) a security or contract once the price of the security climbed above (or dropped below) a specified stop price. When the set stop price is reached, the stop order is entered as a market order (no limit). In simple terms when a stop loss market order is a order to buy or sell a security at the current market price prevailing at the time the stop order is going to trigger the order. This particular type of stop loss order gives the trader no control over the price at which the trade will be executed. This is an order to sell at the best available price after the price goes below the stop price. A sell stop price is always below the current market price. If for example you buy a stock at $1 and the set the stop at $0.90 and the price was to trade next at $0.88 then you be exited from this trade at the $0.88 A major advantage of this is that you can limit the particular loss of the trade. The main disadvantage of the stop loss market is that the trader has no control over the price at which the transaction is executed at if it is below the set price they put.

The use of stop loss orders is a great insurance policy that cost you nothing and can save you a fortune. Unless you plan to hold a stock forever, you should always use stop losses.

Make the Rules- Overcome the Fear

By singapore trader reports

Renowned trading coach Price Headley, author of "Big Trends in Trading", once wrote about the dangers of letting your ego control your trading decisions, especially the three critical decisions of how much money to risk, when to enter a trade and when to get out.

"The ego desires to make discretionary decisions because it desires to appear sophisticated, and daring, and to relieve boredom. But the point of trading is not sophistication, or excitement. It is to make money. So the key question to ask is, 'What is the most effective way to trade?'. And the answer is, 'Very systematically'."

The key to successful trading, he concluded, is the consistent application of clear, well-conceived and objective trading rules. One of the cruelest paradoxes of this incredibly fascinating and challenging pursuit is that trading seems to offer so much freedom, seemingly unlimited freedom to those who are successful at it, yet requires so much regimentation and self-control. An out-of-control trader, whether rookie or seasoned veteran, will crash and burn quickly. A trader in control of his emotions has the game nearly won at the start.

The problem is, once the game is on, self-control seems to evaporate like water in the Gobi desert. But a good set of trading rules will give the newbie a fighting chance, and keep the veteran in the game long after many of his or her fellow traders have moved on to less stressful pursuits. Your rules don't have to be sophisticated or designed by a Nobel Prize-winning economist. In fact, the simpler the better - as long as they are clear and as long as you follow them! Otherwise you will succumb, as every trader does on so many occasions, to what the trading psychology guru Mark Douglas called "The Four Primary Fears".

In his classic book "Trading in the Zone", Douglas wrote that all trading errors - every single one - result from succumbing to one of these Four Primary Fears:

1. The fear of being wrong.

2. The fear of losing money.

3. The fear of missing out (on the trade and profits).

4. The fear of leaving money on the table, or giving back open profits.

These fears lead traders to second-guess their well-designed systems, causing them to exit before an exit signal is given, or to jump in before an entry signal is given. We've all jumped into trades too soon, afraid that the market was going to run away without us. And we've all jumped out too soon, whether second-guessing the entry and not waiting for the trade to develop or snatching the quick profit instead of letting the trade play out and hit our target. Witness the Four Primary Fears in action.

The solution?

1. Have a well-designed (and profitable) system.

2. Have a clear set of rules for entering and exiting trades.

3. Follow your rules!

A well-designed system allows you to trade securely, even serenely, in the knowledge that over time you will make money, and that the result of any single trade doesn't matter to the profitability of your system. After all, losses are part of the best systems ever designed. So is giving back some open profits on each trade. To expect otherwise is to expect, literally, perfection! And in this business, as in life, that is not rational!

So, have faith in your system and faith in your rules and trade well. If your system is a good one you will make money. But perhaps just as importantly, if you follow the rules of your system, instead of reacting to your emotions when deciding whether to enter or exit a trade, the whole enterprise of trading will be much more enjoyable for you.

Stock Market Trading- Are you Planning to Win

By CFD FX REPORT-The Stock Market Report Traders Need

How to become a successful stock market trading begins with a winning trading plan. It's as simple as that. If you develop a well-conceived trading plan to guide your actions in the stock market you will already have the advantage over most of your market competition. Put simply, it gives you the edge you need to win over the long haul when trading the stock market or forex market.

A stock market trading plan will not guarantee your success in the markets, but a good plan will enable you to work methodically toward your stock market trading goals while reviewing on a regular basis what is working and what is not. It will act as a roadmap for your trading journey. It will enable you to respond positively and constructively no matter what happens with your individual trades. And, most importantly, it will help you control the only thing a trader can control: his or her own actions.

The last thing is that the stock market trading is a business. It can be a fascinating and sometimes thrilling business, but in the end it is a business. A trading plan helps you treat it as a business.

IMPORTANT ELEMENTS

1. Why am I trading? What are my goals?

The answers to these questions might seem obvious, but they usually are not. Take some time to ask them of yourself, and seriously consider the answers. You may be surprised by what you learn. And whatever the answers, you will have a clearer picture going forward of what this enterprise means to you, and that will help you survive any rough patches.

2. What markets am I going to trade and why?

It is often best to specialize, especially for beginning stock market traders. Many pros make a great living trading the same stock day every single day for years. Choose a market that is appropriate for your experience level and trading style. Consider other factors such as available margin, volatility and liquidity.

3. What is the concept or philosophy behind your trading methodology?

Your trading system must have a concept behind it. Whether you are a value investor like Warren Buffet or a trend trader like George Soros, you should understand why you are doing what you are doing, how your beliefs about the markets define what you will do as a trader.

4. What will be your specific method?

In other words, specifically how will you execute your trading ideas? Will you buy breakouts or pullbacks? Buy oversold or sell overbought? Or will you use specific technical setups such as moving-average crossovers or another indicator-based strategy? Under exactly what conditions will you enter? When will you know to exit?

5. How much money will you risk on any single trade? On trading in general?

This is critical. Of course, start small. But just as importantly, have a plan in place for how much you will risk, emotions don't cloud your judgment when the time comes. The key is to find an allocation that doesn't cause any stress but still makes the trade worthwhile financially. One of the biggest problems with newer traders is that they are trading way too big in relation to their account size. Like when you are forex trading. Trading forex at 100-1 leverage is like introducing your mistress to your wife. Yes, you can do it, but that doesn't make it a good idea. Normally they don't get along too well.

6. What will my trading rules be?

This is also critical. Your trading rules include entry and exit rules, rules governing maximum daily, weekly or monthly losses, maximum risk on any given trade, the maximum number of trades per week, etc., etc. These rules enforce discipline and keep you out of trouble. What stock price will enter at, what stock price will I will exit. Be discplined.

7. How will I record and evaluate my trading performance?

Allow me to repeat myself: This is critical. In fact, this might be the most important element of trading for new traders in the stock market. A new stock market trader who evaluates his trades, winners and losers, in an effort to learn what works and what does not, will make quantum leaps forward in terms of ability and profitability. If you have a working trading plan and evaluate every single one of your trades after you have closed it you have already beaten 95% of the competition.

8. What are my rules for managing profits?

What's the problem with profits? Well, believe it or not there is one, and it's a serious one. It's called euphoria, and it clouds the judgment perhaps more than any other emotion related to trading. Start piling up the profits for the first time and it won't be long before you are convinced you are king of the world. About 30 seconds later you'll be broke, following a series of unwise and exceedingly risky trades. So have a plan for protecting closed profits when you have reached your goals for the week or the month. Don't give them all back.

9. How will I reward myself for following my trading plan?

Don't leave this out. Following your trading plan will bring rewards in the form of profits, but you should also consciously reward yourself for doing so because it is such an important part of successful trading. So if you finish the week or the month (or even the day) without having broken any of your trading rules, find a way to reward yourself. You deserve it. You are in rare company.

If you follow your plan you are improving your chances of becoming sucessful stock market or forex trader.

Dealing With Income or Job Loss

By Doug West

Why Multiple Income Streams Are More Important Than Ever

The latest economy reports show more and more folks ending up on the unemployed rolls. The real statistics are most often worse than what is reported.

The situation might get Much worse before we see any improvement in the job numbers.

I have always been a big fan of multiple income streams (even before that became a catch-phrase), and I think they are more important now than ever.

When I was laid off my nearly 10 year job with AT&T back in 1992, I saw first hand how important multiple income streams were. At the time, I had a part time mail order biz (and had been tinkering with that since I was a kid). I looked at the lay off as a good opportunity to get more serious about my business. I also had been doing some investing (my best-ever stock play helped BIG back in those days), and had a little network marketing income.

Many of my AT&T coworkers had no other source of income, and I clearly remember a few grown men in tears when they walked us all out the door that morning!

I would MUCH rather have five sources of income that pay me $200 a week, than to have a J.O.B. that pays me a grand a week! If you still have a job, you need to take this info seriously - NOW! If you are one of the millions of folks that recently lost a job or your only income stream, you need to take steps NOW to correct that (you still have time - perhaps a severance package and/or unemployment insurance checks to get you by - but please don't wait till they run out to get going).

How do you start to create multiple income streams? Here are a few areas that are available to most people:

* Online Income - Many things fall into this category, affiliate plans, blogging income, Adsense dollars, online jobs, marketing your own products and/or services, eBay and other auctions, & more.

* Investment Income - OK, this one may be tougher than ever, and if you barely have money to live on, how do you start to invest! I am partial to index trading, and that does not require a lot of money to get started, but to be really good at it, you need other income streams too.

* Network Marketing Income - Don't turn up your nose at this one. I have companies sending me checks that I have not worked in years. While it is true that network marketers often talk about the top guy who is making $500,000 a month, but there are a TON of folks who make a few hundred a month. Not life changing in and of itself, but as part of your multiple income stream strategy, not bad either.

* Cash Back Debit & Credit Cards - You won't get rich with this alone either, but the old saying is really true "If you watch the pennies, the dollars will take care of themselves". Pay Pal offers cash back on a debit card (which in my opinion is better than a credit card - you won't have the temptation to carry over a balance, which would cause interest charges and defeat the purpose of cash back)

* Interest Savings on Loans & Credit Cards - OK, this is not technically income, but if you save money off what you are currently spending, it comes out the same in the end - more money in your pocket and budget.

* Food Bill Savings - This is like the Cash Back cards, not really income but can be very important - especially if you just lost your job or sole income (like many folks who used to live on their stock market income). Try clipping coupons or join a coupon club. Eat at home more and quickly find more money left in the budget at the end of the month.

* Turn Hobbies Into Income - Like to go to garage sales? Turn that hobby into eBay income. Like to work on small engines or have some other hobby that can be turned into an income source? Don't sell yourself short here. Maybe you love flea markets? What if you could get an extra $200 or more a week by setting up a booth one day a week? Not enough to live on for most folks, but not bad as part of your multiple income strategy. You might even consider creating a booklet, ebook, book, or other info product on your hobby. If you are good at it, you ARE and Expert (you don't have to be the best to be considered an expert - there are folks out there who will pay you for what you know).

We have had affiliates of our Index Trading course earn up to $100,000 in a year. We've had many more earn from $5,000 to $30,000 in a year. What if you had 5 affiliate plans you liked (loved would be better - you'd be more passionate about them), that averaged about $5,000 each per year. You might be able to live on that. Add some other sources like the ones mentioned above and you might live very well!

You should always be looking for ways to add additional income streams. Remember, the more you have the better! If one dries up, you are not devastated.

The time to set up multiple income streams is before you need them, but no matter what your situation is, there is no time like NOW to get started. - 16586

American Eagle Gold Bullion Coin Sets - Why Buy Proof?

By Christina Goldman

Are you wondering whether you should invest in American Eagle Gold Proof Sets versus the American Eagle Gold Bullion coin sets? You're not alone. Many gold bullion investors often wonder which version of the two they should purchase. Gold proof? Or gold bullion? The answer depends upon your reason for wanting to purchase the coin in the first place.

Are You An Investor Or A Collector?

Typically, gold is purchased as a hedge against inflation, a declining dollar or as an insurance policy against financial catastrophe. Both the American Gold Eagle Proof coin and the American Gold Eagle bullion coin are the same size, and contain the same quantity and guaranteed quality of gold. Let's look at the differences between the two types of gold:

American Eagle Gold Proof Coin Sets

1. Are special collector's edition coins

2. Are produced in limited quantities

3. Struck at a higher quality standard

4. Comes pre-packaged in a protective blue velvet, satin lined case

5. Are shipped with a certificate of authenticity

6. Are available for sale directly from the U.S. Mint

If love to collect beautiful coins that have the potential to increase in value not only for its gold content but for its collectibility, go with the proof version!

American Eagle Gold Eagle Bullion Coin Sets

1. Value is determined soley by the current market price of gold at the time the coin is purchased or sold.

2. Are not purchased for their age or rarity

3. Are not available for sale from the U.S. Mint

4. Must be purchased from an authorized dealer

If your main goal is to purchase the American Gold Eagle coin in order to capitalize on the rising price of gold, with the hope of selling and making a profit down the road, go with the bullion version!

eBay can be a great place to find some of the rare, earlier dated gold proof sets. However, before buying any American Eagle Gold Proof Set online, please be sure the seller is reputable and has a high, positive feedback number! - 16586

How To Make Money On Options Using Theta Decay

By Walter Fox

For many market traders, looking for a trend or some other market anomaly in order to consistently make money is the financial holy grail. Though there are a number of market systems that claim to be consistent enough to make you money, the reality is that most strategies aren't as trustworthy as they could be, which can cause you to lose your hard earned capital.

A widely touted stock option trading strategy out there in common use today is the idea of "theta decay." At first glance, the name isn't indicative of something positive, but in reality, the concept capitalizes on a well known fact about option trading - options expire on a set date.

One result of this is that option values change over time. In particular, they change significantly when their expiration dates are drawing near. For example, options traders have learned that option values tend to drop as the strike date approaches.

Theta decay analysis is able to serve as the basis for an option trading system because, compared with stocks, options are much more information-rich. The existence of an expiration date gives options traders the information foothold they need. Big gains can result for those able to keep up with the brisk flow of options information.

How does one benefit from theta decay in their stock option trading system? The answer is simple - you take advantage of the time value of money, and its tendency to change faster closer to the expiration date. Analysis shows that the time value of an option drops linearly until the last thirty or so trading days prior to expiration.

Those last thirty days are where this set of option trading strategies comes into full effect. As the issue gets closer within that thirty day period, the time value of the option starts to decline at an accelerated rate. As a result, if you hold certain positions, you can profit from this loss.

Imagine, for example, that you have an option approaching expiration and hold a short position while also selling an inverse call option. You could realize two separate gains. The first of these comes when you sell the call at a premium relative to its actual value. The second can result if the option does not finish on the positive side in money.

If you get your timing right and keep an eagle eye out for option information, theta decay is a useful tool to employ with your stock options trading. As with any system, there is always the possibility of losing your principal through incautious application of the technique. However, if you are attuned to the market and carefully scrutinize expiration dates, you can easily find yourself making money with this effective and under-utilized strategy. - 16586
